The Mumbai shop of India’s most wanted mafia underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, which no one was willing to buy, has now become the property of UP’s glass businessman Hemant Jain. Hemant Jain will also do his glass business in this shop. Hemant Jain had deposited money in 2001 to buy this shop, but Dawood had such a fear on the police and the income tax department that he had to run around for two decades to get possession and registration of the shop. Now the shop has been registered in the name of Hemant Jain.
Hemant Jain, a resident of Firozabad, is a resident of Lahari Compound in Uttar Thana area. Hemant Jain was once a well-known name in the electronics market of Firozabad. In September 2001, he came to know that no one was coming forward to buy the property of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, the main culprit of the Mumbai bomb blasts.
When Hemant Jain reached Mumbai to see the shop, he came to know that Dawood’s henchman works by installing lathe machines. Even after this, he was not afraid and on 20 September 2001, he deposited one lakh rupees with the Income Tax Department for the 144 square feet shop located in Jairaj Bhai Street, Mumbai and bought this shop. He deposited the remaining one lakh rupees on 28 September 2001 and completed the auction process.
